Beginning

This is my first blog post ever. The site is still under extensive construction so there will be lots of changes.

About Me

Justin: I grew up in a Christian family on a wheat farm in the middle of Kansas. It was here that I discovered that I had an aptitude for mechanical devices. From there I decided to study Mechanical Engineering at John Brown University in Arkansas. After graduating in 2006, I found myself engineering components of the Boeing 747 in Wichita Kansas. During this time that I felt the desire to use my talents to help those who desperately need it: the physically and spiritually poor. It was about this time that I was informed about EMI. During the next year I was slowly convinced that the hurdle of lack of technical knowledge about civil engineering could be overcome if it was God's will. This ended up being the case because I was accepted into the EMI intern program and served my first internship during the fall of 2010. During that time I was given the notion that my time with EMI was not finished as I served a second semester with EMI spring of 2011. An opportunity arose within EMI which has the potential to be a great fit which is where I find myself today. I am currently in the process of support raising and making the transition from Kansas to Colorado Springs to be full time staff.
