Worship

This has been a growing experience for me.  Up until now, I've only participated in worship by singing.  Singing is great in my mind and I hope to keep worshiping in that way for a long time. During this semester I was asked if I would like to play an instrument during worship.  I said that I would like to and that I play piano but there's just one problem; I don't know how to play the piano unless I have sheet music in front of me or if I have memorized the song.  Unfortunately I haven't memorized any worship songs.  Phil, our Irish intern and musical genius said something to the effect of "Don't worry, I'll teach you how to play the songs."  I thought that I'd give it a try. 
I should also let you know about another detail.  There were four male interns in the Colorado Springs office.  We have bonded quite well.  There are lots of things that we have done together, some of which I'll write a blog post about.
Typically each day in the EMI office we begin our time with devotions and prayer.  On Friday's we have a time of worship along with a trip report from a project leader that tells of how God moved during their respective trip.  It's a great time to see the different ways that miracles come about.  Each of those worship times is organized by one of the interns.  Often times it seemed like the four of us guys were involved with the music.  I enjoyed these times of practice and also the Friday mornings of worship.  I hope to continue learning how to musically lead others in times of worship.  Here is a picture of the four of us practicing.
